WordPress is light, fast, easy to manage on the client-side and is heavily supported thanks to a massive contributor community. Here at Southern Web Group, we build all of our custom websites using the WordPress content management system as the backbone for these reasons (and a few more).
According to data from Built With, a service that tracks what technologies are being used to power websites, WordPress is far and away the leading CMS on today’s web.
Of the top 10,000 websites (based on traffic and other factors), 42.16 percent with a content management system rely on WordPress to power their sites. Diving deeper into the numbers reveals that more than 50 percent of the web’s top one million sites are based on WordPress. That’s a staggering number, but it could go even higher as old technologies die off or are replaced with more efficient systems. I’m looking at you, Cold Fusion.
Other CMS platforms include Drupal, Joomla, Blogger, ExpressionEngine and vBulletin. Combined, these systems come nowhere close to reaching WordPress’ market share. And it’s not for a lack of trying. The reason is simple: WordPress is the best.
Southern Web Group clients can rest assured that continued development in WordPress will ensure their sites remain stylishly functional for years to come.
